Women's Society (WS) of the Islamic Republic of IRAN
WS came into existence in 1986 and was recognized by Ministry of Home in 1989. It was
formed in order to achieve the religious, socio-cultural and political objectives in national
and international fields.
General Objectives of WS:
- To introduce genuine Islamic culture.
- To support the rights of the oppressed.
- To face out superpowers' imperial culture, racism and
zionism.
Special objectives of WS:
- To enhance women's personality and their scientific, intellectual and cultural capabilities
within the framework
of Islamic ideals.
- To struggle for women's rights and establish the
position of divine revelations in the family and society.
- To increase women's participation in sound and
constructive social activities.
- To establish relations with similar women 5
organization at international level and support their healthy movements all over the world.
Activities of WS:
- To conduct seminars, conferences and meetings.
- To publish books, magazines, posters, pictures and
diaries (Nida, is the official quarterly organ of WS).
- To issue messages, and statements on different
occasions and when necessary.
- To dispatch propaganda missions and delegations
abroad to take part in conferences and seminars and
establish contact with women's organizations of other
countries.
