DEPARTMENT'S OBJECTIVES CONCERNING WOMEN'S AFFAIRS

Explanation of the Islamic Republic of Iran's views through active presence and participation in international gatherings with the purpose of promoting Islamic values and offering a proper model of the activities and status of women in Iran to other women throughout the world.
Expansion and coordination of the international activities of women in the cultural, social and political fields with other governmental and non-governmental organs.
Identification of potential activities and planning on international level and surveying of women's situation in the world through establishing data banks.
Collection of information concerning the accusations and allegations made against muslim women by the international Human Rights fora (U.N.and others) and preparation of officials responses reports in this regard.
Reflection of news concerning the activities of women in international gatherings to the governmental and non-governmental organs with the purpose of informing concerned officials of the women's situation in the world.

PERFORMANCE OF THE DEPARTMENT ON WOMEN'S AFFAIRS

A- Measures implemented at the national level

Coordination of activities related to women with national governmental and non-governmental organs.
Follow-up of the activities related to the national committee of the World Conference on Women.
Holding of exhibitions and joint seminars with national governmental and non-governmental organizations.
Updating of the data bank related to women.
Informing national organs, the press, representatives offices of the Islamic Republic of Iran of the world policies and allegations made against the Muslim women.

B- Measures implemented at the international level

Coordination of the activities related to women with foreign governmental and non-governmental organs.

Follow -up of the measure implemented in relation to the Convention of Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination and Violence Against Women to follow up the Nairobi strategies in the committee on the status of women.

Cooperation with the specialized agencies (UNESCO, UNICEF ) in the subject areas related to women.

Studying the status of women in the other countries.

Follow-up of the topics related to children, juveniles, elderly and disabled.

Participation in international meetings held on women's affairs such as;

Annual Sessions of the Commission of the Status of Women, Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discriminati6ns Against Women, World Conference on women in Beijing and cultural seminars related to women.

C- Substantial measures;

Help to establish joint societies, parliamentary associations and NGOs
Cooperation with the university and religious educational centers for preparation of Islamic views to be presented in international organization of women.
Follow-up of the preparation of the first Islamic Republic of Iran's periodic report in relation to the convention of the rights of the child.
Preparation of the statement to be presented in international meetings related to women.
